You can get the most accurate information about Nizami Ganjavi`s last years from the prefaces of his poems. The 55-year-old poet writes about his illnesses, exhaustion and injustice in life in his poem “Yeddi gozel” (Seven Beauties), which he finished in 1196. Nevertheless, he lived and created. After “Seven Beauties”, he wrote his masterpiece “Iskandarnama”. In the preface of this poem, he describes that life is coming to an end, and one should think about how to end their life with dignity, what to do so that their names will be etched on people`s memory forever.
